The Fiat 850 Coupé was introduced in 1965 at the Geneva Motor Show. It was a great success with low price and wonderful looks. From humble beginnings as a family car, the coupé was something else: Apart from the increase of engine performance, the equipment was also extended and adapted to the higher expectations. Both received sport seats, a sport steering wheel and new sexy instruments. The front drum brakes were replaced with disc brakes, although drum brakes remained on the rear wheels. This was a sport car for the people.
145 km/h top speed does not seem much today. But the feeling you get driving this thing is just unbelievable. It fuzzes of energy and sounds great. People wave and smile when you pass them on the road. The yellow colour ” Giallo positano” is a fresh breath from today´s sea of gray cars. It is a feelgood machine.
