So - do you want something that is more unique than a new Ferrari? This is the answer, a 1970 Giannini 590 GT evocatione. What is a Giannini 590 GTS? In 1920 the brothers Giannini started a small company that converted cars for competition use. The results spoke for themselves through a victory in the Mille Miglia in 1927. The golden age was, however, in the sixties. Carlo Abarth was already famous. From 1957 he tuned the Fiat 500 nuova to become a real racing car. Giannini saw the potential. Here there was a market that was almost inexhaustible. The war against Abarth was underway. This is Gianninis weapon against Abarth's famous 595 SS. Back in the days it pushed 35 hp from it´s small twin engine. That gave 135 km/h. This Giannini has 45 hp. It makes the car run out of numbers on the small speedo and provide smiles and laughter. (both form you and the surroundings). This is a small car that gives great pleasure. So what is done:
BODY: Fiat 500 with group 2 flares in fiberglass. It is freshly prepared and newly painted under and over. New canvas roof and "Zagato" double bubble glass fiber roof.
EXTERIOR: Giannini decals and emblems
CHASSIS: lowered and new shock absorbers, along with new brakes, brake lines etc.
ENGINE: Freshly build by famous tuner in England with power output of 45 hp. Detailed with external oil filter, 40 millimeters double Weber carburator with trumpets, aluminum oil pan and head cover, electronic ignition ++
TRANSMISSION: Reinforced synchronized 126 box
EXHAUST: Sport Exhaust with the “right”
INTERIOR: Redone seats in red leatherette, Giannini instruments
WHEEL: Vintage original steering wheel from the 50s Personal. This will be replaced before the sale and changed to a sixties wodden wheel from MOMO. Possibly I'll leave it in for a price premium of NOK 15,000
WHEELS: Contemporary Revolution aluminum rims
CONCLUSION: You hardly get a tougher Fiat 500. This is a car that gets you and your surroundings to smile. It costs you almost nothing to have and is an eye catcher for any car collection, businesses or just a piece of jewelry for the garage. This is automotive history at its best. One cannot build the equivalent for the of asking price. Practical no, but amazing and addictive indeed!
