SEDUCTRESS SEEKS NEW HOME
An Alfa Romeo Giulia GT is so much more than its sum of parts. Anyone driving this car will be seduced: The engine sound, design and driving experience provides an overall picture that captivates driver and spectators. The car tackles modern traffic with ease. Maybe that's why the world has become aware of this beautiful car and that the prices in the past few years has risen sharply.
Our car is a "Scalino", or colloquially called “the mailbox”. This is the original design of the Giulia Gt. Just as Giorgetto Giugiaro drew it when he was only 22 years old at Bertone. This is the most sought after model, and one of the most successful car design ever produced. In addition, it has the most coveted dashboard with classic wood veneer and elegant instruments from Veglia. The seats, which incidentally are flawless are in contemporary black leatherette. As if this were not enough, the car is painted in the original color Biancospino AR-013. The result you can see on the pictures, a beautiful car that is guaranteed to make your heart beat faster.
Our car has a very exciting story, a big box of documentation follows it; manuals, service booklet and literature in quantities. The car came off the line in Arese in 1966. The first years it went on dry roads in Northern Italy. Thereafter, the Alfa was imported as household goods to Norway in 1971. In Norway, it was a “everyday car” for enthusiasts for years. It was travelling in the world of motor racing and experienced adventures from steep mountain passes to secret lake drives. It got a tow hook in England in connection with buying a prewar Lancia. The Alfa ran racing cars around the world, as far as in Northern Scotland. See the historical image of the Lotus Elite that hangs behind our Bertone. The picture was taken in 1976 to 1978. Observe also the authentic badge from Donington race circuit UK. We have let this sit on as a nod to history. Worn but with lovely patina. This is a car that was and is loved. We wish that this journey will continue and look for proper enthusiast to take over heirloom.
The car is not perfect but absolutely very nice. It is after all 51 years old. But everything works, it's extremely fun to drive. The engine sings more beautifully than Pavarotti. This Bertone will certainly give the owner a proud smile when he opens the garage door. Comes naturally with MOT (EU controlled): Ready to travel to Scotland, Italy or wherever it may be. We wish you a good trip!
