Once hiding in the shadows, the De Tomaso Pantera is now in the limelight together with cars such as Lamborghini Countach and Maserati Bora. Benzina is proud to present real collectors item for sale. A low mileage Pantera (73000 km).
This is an easy project. The Pantera is drivable, but needs a light resto. A few parts have been taken out of the car, but as mentioned, one can try and start the car on site. The car is original in the color orange, but in the eighties it was painted in resale red. As we see it, orange is the very best color of a De Tomaso. The color suits the car's lines and becomes stunning with the stainless steel and magnesium wheels.
The paint is now worn. We have soda blasted the chassis and places we suspected that there was rust. After removing the red color, we found a very honest and complete car with almost no rust at all. According to experts we have contacted this is exceptional for a De Tomaso. It's also interesting that, besides camshaft and Holley carburetor, it's completely original. Most of these cars were rebuilt with widebody kits and non- original seats etc.
