Resume
The Jensen Interceptor is a two-door, four-seat GT that was manufactured from 1966 to 1976 in a number of 6408 cars. It was made at the West Bromwich factory in England for ten years. It is considered one of the most iconic gran turismo cars ever produced. And is the ultimate expression of the 1960s jet-set period. The V8 engines come from American Chrysler. and are in the size of 5.9, 6.3 or 7.2 liters. All the models have in common that they have plenty of brute power and the mechanicals are very reliable. The body is elegant, solid, modern and practical. This is a sports car that can be used by the whole family. Many believe that this is the most useful sports car that was produced in the 60's. However, it does not make it boring. Running a Jensen Interceptor is not something you forget easily.
Driving the Interceptor
The driving position is comfortable but elegantly laid back. Insert the ignition key in the illuminated ignition switch and turn it over. The car starts with a lazy V8 bark. With the windows up, you hear the engine well. It is reminiscent of an American muscle car. A deep sound with beautiful rumble. Press the switch to the electric window lift and close the window, then the car transforms itself into a sophisticated limousine. Put the car in the drive and release the brakes. You don't have to give much throttle until you understand that there are forces in abundance here. A tap on the throttle pedal and the car urges fast forward along with a V8 soundtrack that makes you smile. This is a "feel good" and addictive car. The undercarriage is precise and even though the car is fairly heavy, it drives well on winding roads. But it is when the roads open up that you realize that you are driving something very special. It drives efficiently and quickly, even if you are not really trying. This is a car you want to drive straight to Monte Carlo with. If you can afford the gasoline costs of course. The big V8 drinks gasoline as a sailor drinks beer right after he has been given land leave. But as we all know, it costs to be a gentleman or a fashionable lady.
Our car
Our Interceptor is in very good condition. It was sold new in Germany and therefore has both the LHD and kilometres on the speedometer. The elegant colour combination of dark blue to light beige leather gives the car a very special elegance. You want to wear a suit, smoke cigar and of course order Gin Tonic when you arrive at the hotel or the castle in style. The car has very nice patina. The details do not look new, but have nice flair of gentle use. Everything works and the car is running very well. Since the car is from the EU it can easily be exported or registered in Norway. Before delivery we will give the car a big service, including new spark plugs and a new carburetor. In addition, we will treat leather and other surfaces, as well as rub and polish the body and metal parts. Some painted surfaces will get new paint. Everything is done with sympathy to the age of the car and with regard to this. The interceptor will be ready to be immediately enjoyed by the new owner. New images are taken after this job is done.
