This car has not been driven since 1976. It is a full 43 years! If this is not a “barnfind”, we do not know what is.
This Fiat Coupe started its life in Italy with an olive-oil-baron from Imperia, Italy. After two hectic years playing with the playboy on the Riviera, the car was put away and forgotten in 1976. That car was not found until 2017, and then as a completely untouched / unrestored car. The engine was seized due to long storage, but the rest of the car looked the way it had when it left the factory in Turin in 1972. The car was then exported to Norway and underwent a sympathetic awakening / restoration, keeping the car as original as possible.
This means today, that you can buy yourself an almost new Fiat, which even smells of Turin in the seventies. The Fiat is simply fantastic to drive. Tight as a new car, and the engine revs angrily with its dual carburetors from Solex. The gearbox is tight and the gears well-spaced. The brakes are fantastic for such an old car.
INTERIOR
Inside you will find an exciting / elegant cloth green interior that stands smart against the white exterior. The baron sure had amazing taste. The instruments have white dials on a black background with the name Veglia. Sporty and elegant against a black artificial leather background. Ceiling covers and carpets are of course original and in good condition. You sit comfortably in the immaculate and seats. There are no cracks in the dashboard. The car has stylish green windows to match the green interior. Everything works as it should except the signal horn, which lacks a relay. An easy fix.
BODY
The car has the original paint in the engine compartment, interior doors etc. But unfortunately the exterior had to be repainted in the original color due to storage. Feces from birds had caused acid damage to the paint. All windows including the windshield are original.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Completely original with original bushings and shock absorbers. Runs perfectly.
BRAKES
Original in fantastic condition. Overhauled calipers and new brake pipes where needed.
WHEEL
Cromodora alloy wheels with new correct tires (the old ones were cracked and rock hard)
DRIVETRAIN
Engine: the coveted 1608 on dual Solex carburetors. A very fast Fiat engine that takes easily to tuning.
Total overhauled. Ie. new bearings, pistons, prepared valves and new water pump etc.
Transmission original perfect
Differential original perfect
All fluids swapped
CONCLUSION
This is a time machine we really would like to keep. If no one buys it from us, it will definitely be in our collection. This is not the time to doubt. Have you wanted an Italian time machine that is completely original and with low milage, this is the car. The Fiat is ready for anything anytime.
