We sell this car on behalf of a customer. The total number of Aston Martin DBS ever built is 829. Only 51 left-hand drive cars were equipped with a three-speed automatic transmission from Borg Warner. This makes this car extremely rare and exclusive.
This Aston Martin is well documented. The car was sold new in the USA in February 1969. The same year that Aston Martin used an identical car in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". It is originally painted in the stunning color Silver Birch, a hue that you find on almost all Bond Astons. This gives the car a touch of elegance, but also a hint of brutality - just like 007. There is no place this car does not fit in and arouses appreciative looks. The car was imported to Norway in 1999 and stayed unused for about 20 years.
During the last three years, it has been partially restored for about EURO 50.000
- Body is completely restored with paint to mint finish.
- New rubber strips all windows and doors
- The brakes are completely overhauled including the two brake boosters
- The interior has been restored with a view to retaining as much of the original materials as possible.
- New Dunlop 6x15 on correct wire-wheels with correct 205WR 15 PIRELLI CINTURATO
- NOS Owner`s manual
- Full service on the V8 including new carburetor, distributor and filters
- ETC ETC
All work is documented with receipts.
The car has only one single challenge, The original in-line six has been replaced by a 1969 mod "smallblock" 350 V8 from Chevrolet. The entire engine compartment is otherwise original, so if you find an engine, this is quite easy to change. We know about an overhauled engine at the right price if the prospective buyer is interested. If the correct engine is fitted, the car will rise significantly in value. This is in other words. an opportunity to get you an exclusive car at reduced price.
To drive
The combination British elegance with American muscle is working rather well. The V8 sound is addictive and with the automatic box makes the car very easy to drive. It cruises brilliantly and kicks down in an instant. This is a classic that is easy to live with and everybody loves. Driving it makes you feel special. Should the engine blow up (not very likely), then replacing it is easy and cost next to nothing. You can have your cake and eat it. We are really not sure if we want the original engine back in the car. Since the V8 engine is in the cars legal papers, there is a possibility to build a raw "sleeper". We are fantasizing about a Dodge Hellcat engine of 717 hp with an associated gearbox. That would really have been something to surprise the modern supercar crew: A sledge hammer in a designer suit.
The car is 52 years old and needs an understanding owner with style. Therefore, we want the buyer to know his / hers cars and agree that the car is sold without any kind of warranty. We take the time to go through the car with you. That way, misunderstandings or boring incidents do not occur in retrospect.
We prefer telephone contact due to large working pressure. Mail or SMS without full name / phone number is not answered. An appointment for an inspection is made in advance.
