Maserati Biturbo Spider Zagato 1991
Type AM333 (matching no)
Chassis no ZAM333B00LA102719
Engine no 354192
Built by ZAGATO in 122 examples.
HISTORY
Bought new in Italy (PESARO) 09.05.91. Imported by Maserati club member to Norway in 17.09.1998. Owned by him to present day. The Maserati has stood in dry storage fro 12 years. The car has a full history including the purchase document and the original leather cover that accompanies the car. Here you will find a service booklet (completed), assistance booklet, instruction book and code card for stereo. The car has spare wheels, spare wheel opener, warning triangle, fire extinguisher, map light and complete service booklet.
INTERIOR
Leather / alcantara in top condition. Everything works including central locking, instruments, etc., the interior is very nice considering the mileage and age. Speedometer needle can jump a little. We suspect this is oxidation in the sensor from storage under the car. Will probably be better by use or cleaning of contacts.
CABRIO
In very good condition with alcantara ceiling, rear window in good condition, and cover at the back in good condition. No cracks, discolorations or holes.
BODY
Untouched apart from repainted doors (as written in history), there are two small parking dents on doors but hardly visible. We have not found any rust. There are a couple of micro paint bubbles at the very bottom of the rear edge front fenders. Impossible to see without a lift.
WHEELS
Rims original and round, to get the mint they should be painted. Tires have been standing for 12 years, should be replaced or new ones can be bought and fitted and added to the price.
ENGINE
The car has received a full oil service with Castrol Supercar Edge oil / filter
New fuel lines.
Cleaned fuel system
New NGK plugs
New antifreeze
New cambelt
Engine runs perfectly with very strong pull. There is no doubt all power is present.
DRIVE LINE
Gearbox ZF shifts perfectly
No noise in limited slip (a little slack is present as on all Biturbos, this is less with hot drive and absolutely normal)
BRAKES
Front: discs and pads were replaced not long ago. No notable wear on discs.
Rear: New pads. No notable wear on discs.
Brake fluid changed.
GENERALLY
The car has been parked for 12 years. We have reviewed the car technically and visually. It has just gone through EU control (Mot) with zero issues. However, this does not mean that the car is perfect. A car that has been stored may be faulty when it is used again. The person who buys the car must take this into account and realize that small mistakes can happen. The car is sold without any kind of warranty, inspected as is. The buyer must review the vehicle himself / herself so that he / she knows what he / she is buying. After all it is 31 years old. This car is a time capsule of everything that was great about the eighties. With a low production number and body made by Zagato, prices can only go one way and that is up.
