With licence to thrill
This is a very special opportunity for Benzinas customers. How often does one find an unmolested Aston Martin (apart from the engine, more on this later) in very good condition in a garage? This is what you call a time warp classic. It has been out of service for at least 20 years. Once a barn find (garage find), then discovered and now ready for use. The car has fresh service, new oils, and plugs, plug leads, etc. New brakes: Including brake callipers, pads and brake pumps. The car will be delivered on the button ready to drive.
This Aston is well documented. It was delivered to British Car Distributors in February 1969. Same year as Aston Martin used an identical car in the James Bond movie “On Her Majesty's Secret Service”. Colour is Silver Birch: The colour preferred on almost all Bond Astons. This gives the car an air of elegance but also a hint of menace. It is like a good suit, you can take it anywhere and it will not look out of place. Which is lucky as it is no hardship going for a long drive in this car.
The price seems too low, and it does not reflect the cars condition, which is very good. However there is a small catch. The engine and automatic box is from Chevrolet. This is not all bad, as the strong small block V8 makes for carefree driving. Of course we would love to put an original straight six in the car. Witch is possible if you can find one. Nothing is ruined in the engine room and the swap can easily be reversed. Doing so would at least make the car about three times more valuable than our selling price. The car has Norwegian papers and is legal with the V8 engine.
The total number of Aston Martin DBS ever built is 829.
Only 51 left hand drive cars was equipped with the automatic three speed Borg Warner gearbox. Making this car extremely rare and exclusive.
Equipment when new:
Borg Warner Automatic
Air conditioning
Flam Horns
Power steering
Bosh New York radio
Two rear lap belts
Black leather interior
Colour: Silver Birch
We love the patina: The seats with their charming wrinkles and lived in leather. The paint with its unique dull gloss made from decades of loving hands. We really do not want to restore it to perfect condition. As an example there is a small dent in the right rear wing, but we have not fixed it as it gives the car an atmosphere of originality. It is easy to fix, but we prefer buyers to look at the car as is. Now that most Aston Martins are over restored and looks like something different than what once were, this is a wonderful opportunity to get something truly unique. Buy it before it is too late. With this car you are the star on the road.
