THE GTA JUNIOR TRIBUTE CONSEPT
The starting point is the coveted model 1600 GT Veloce. In itself, this is a very unique and rare car. If the car was already original, the owner would never have taken the plunge and built himself a GTA Junior tribute. The car had received the GTA junior / GTAm wings sometime in the seventies in Switzerland, and had tell-tale signs from previous racing history with, among other things, attachment points to the Autodelta’s Sliding Block. The car was therefore restored with this in mind. The idea was to give that identity from the sixties and seventies racetracks back, and the use of modern materials and technology where it is not visible. Among other things 123 ignition for drivability, light flywheel and clutch for better gas response, power steering for use in urban areas and modern camshaft technology for drivability.
The word replica is often misused. A replica is an exact cop’ or model of another item. Within art, it can also be a work of art carried out by the artist himself or under his supervision. That’s why we don’t call this Alfa a GTA replica, but a tribute. Even so, it is far more correct than most Alfa GTs that are called GTA replicas. The attention to detail is immense.
