WHEN MAD WAS GOOD
Most of the cars produced in the nineties were sensible and boring. However, there were honorable exceptions. In Dieppe, France, they probably added something special to the morning coffee. Here there was still a spark of life and creativity. The first car-race took place in France in 1894. Ever since that year the French have been hooked on racing and fast cars.
Renault has done and is doing well in both rally and Formula 1. In the early nineties, they decided to create a brand series in racing. At the same time they wanted to promote the brand as sporty. The Renault Sport Spider was to be both a racing car and an exceptional street car no one had ever seen before. This was the first car developed by Renault Sport. A brand that is synonymous with all Renault RS models. Models like Clio and Megan RS make every enthusiast dream of winding roads and dry asphalt.
THE DRIVING MACHINE
The engine is taken from the Renault Williams “GTI” car. Although it is only two liters and 148 hp, (A little more in our car because of the sports exhaust) it also has no more than 930 kg to move. With good torque and high rpm willingness, this is more than enough. The impression of speed is enhanced by sitting low and in the wind. The bodywork is extremely strong and consists of a complex aluminum chassis and lightweight plastic panels. There are no convertibles or side windows.
SIMPLY SPECIAL
Everything is wonderful and special about this car. From the Lamborghini-like hinged doors that open up, to the leather-clad Recaro seats with yellow seat belts. When you finally sit behind the wheel, everything falls into place. The gear lever falls right into the hand and the gears are tight. The steering is magical, the leather-wrapped sports steering wheel literally dances in your hands. This is simply pure driving pleasure. The car provides a driving experience that more expensive sports cars can only dream of. Even today, many people are surprised at how fast this car goes on the track. You just want to drive and drive until the tank is empty, then fill up again and do the same all over again.
CONCLUSION
Although the car offers enormous driving pleasure, the best thing about this package is that it is still cheap. But how long will it be like this? Those of us who know the history of the Renault Turbo 2 model know that the prices of these icons can only go one way, and that is up. They simply don't make cars like this anymore, and current legislation won't allow us to either. In a safety-obsessed society where the only criterion for a good car has soon become milage range, you have to act before it's too late. What are you waiting for?
The car is in fantastic condition and has only traveled 34,900 km. In principle, it is just driven in. We want the car to go to a good home and be driven. We want the buyer to be knowledgeable about cars and to understand that the car is being sold without any kind of warranty. We take the time to go through the car with you. That way, misunderstandings or boring incidents do not arise afterwards.
We prefer telephone contact because great work pressure. Mail or SMS without full name / telephone number will not be answered. An agreement is made for an inspection in advance.
