RALLY LEGEND FOR THE ROAD
On behalf of a customer, we are selling a very rare Lancia Fulvia. This is a genuine matching numbers Lancia Fulvia 1.3 HF. As Lancia built only 882 examples of the 1.3 HF, it has great collector value. As an example the Porsche 2.7 RS, which is considered very rare, were built in 1,580 examples. Almost twice as many as the HF Lancia. If you have a 1.3 HF, you are unlikely to meet a similar along the local roads.
Chassis no: 818 340 *001832. All other numbers can be sent for serious clients.
WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THE RALLY 1,3 HF MODEL?
HF Squadra Corse, Lancia's motorsport division, was responsible for the development of this rally weapon. The 1.3 HF is based on the Fulvia Coupé model. The bodywork was strengthened, lightened and painted in the exquisite red color "Amaranto Montebello". All HF models received a blue/yellow longitudinal stripe over the hood, roof and trunk lid. Blue/yellow happened to be the colors of Turin's city coat of arms, but also the colors of HF Squadra Corse. Everything in the car was tailored to be effective on the rally track. The car got plexiglass in the side windows, aluminum in the doors, hood and trunk lid. The bumpers were replaced with small stainless covers. The seats where in unique lightweight HF type. With good support on winding roads. Under the bonnet you found the rev-friendly HF engine which could be recognized by a blue and yellow cylinder head. It was fitted with two unique dual Solex carburettors, different camshafts, reinforced internals and an efficient manifold. The gearbox was specially built / strengthened for the model. The engine had an oil cooler plus an oil temp gauge that kept the engine temperature in check during hard driving. Incidentally, the steering had a faster exchange to function better on winding roads. In other words, a thoroughbred purpose-built rally car. Many believe this is the world's first "homologated" rally car.
HISTORY
The car was originally sold in Sweden and first registered on 18 September 1968. It is claimed that this is the old rally car of Pat Moss, the sister of Stirling Moss and the wife of Erik "Carlsson På Taket". This is for now just a rumor, and has yet to be proven. Pat was successful in the Lancia, and won the Sestriere Rally in 1968 ahead of four other Fulvia Rallye 1.3 HF cars. Anyway, this car was damaged during practice for the rally and was then forgotten for many years. After a long sleeping of beauty, it was imported to Norway in 2018. Two long years of restoration then took place and the car received plates in 2020. Certain things on the car are original and untouched, including seats, steering wheel and dashboard. This gives the car an original and charming feel.
BODYWORK
Correctly newly restored with phenomenal finish, including engine compartment and underneath. Correct aluminum doors, bonnet and tailgate. Correct plexiglass on side windows.
ENGINE
Overhauled and driven by Engs Auto AS in Norway. Runs phenomenally. Good power and a lovely sound. Everything is in correct original finish.
GEARBOX & DRIVE
Newly overhauled gearbox and drivetrain. In top condition and correct finish.
INTERIOR
Original with some patina. Special HF steering wheel and special HF lightweight sports seats. New roof lining.
WHEELS
Two sets of wheels. Original 13 steel wheels and set of very rare Campagnolo Magnesium 14x6 with Dunlop Classic tires. One Campagnolo has the wrong offset but can be used by using a spacer.
UNDERPINNINGS AND BRAKES
All new restored as per HF Squadra Corse spec. Looks as good on the underside as on the overside.
CONCLUSION
A wonderfully fun car with indescribable charm, people give it the thumbs up everywhere. Don't be fooled by the power, this light car goes very well. The small 1300 engine is strong, happy and willing to rev. This is a thoroughbred in miniature format. This was made at the time Lancia represented quality. It feels good when you close the doors and drive on a bad road. The car is incredibly well put together and feels solid. In addition, it is a wise place to put your money. A limited edition factory built rally car will always retain its value.
The car is 55 years old, therefore we want the buyer to be knowledgeable about cars and to understand that the car is being sold without any kind of warranty. We take the time to go through the car with you. That way, misunderstandings or boring incidents do not arise afterwards.
We prefer telephone contact because great work pressure. Mail or SMS without full name / telephone number will not be answered. Inspection is agreed in advance.
