Please read the full listing carefully!
“Unique opportunity” is an expression often used too freely — but in this case, it is actually quite accurate. This is a very special car and, importantly, fully road legal and approved in Norway exactly as it stands today. You would be hard-pressed to find a tougher-looking Volvo P1800.
This is the ultimate sleeper hot rod — a car that combines classic design with modern drivability and considerably more power than the original ever offered.Under the bonnet sits a compact 4.3-litre Chevrolet Vortec V6, delivering the performance many feel the P1800 always deserved.
This is paired with:
The result is the best of both worlds: timeless styling combined with improved usability and serious character. In short: a hooligan in a tuxedo.
The car was built during 2003–2004.
Conclusion
This is an exceptionally cool car, recently roadworthy approved (MOT equivalent) and fully usable as it stands. At the same time, we want to be completely transparent about a few things: The car is relatively easy to drive, but the gearbox can be challenging to operate, and it is easy to select the wrong gear. This should be addressed either through adjustment/new linkage components or by removing and inspecting the gearbox.
In addition, the engine tends to hang slightly above idle. We suspect a minor vacuum leak.
These issues are reflected in the asking price. We would therefore prefer the car to go to a knowledgeable enthusiast, or someone willing to have the car professionally sorted and optimized.
Buying and selling classic cars should be an enjoyable experience. Please note that the car is sold “as is” and without warranty. Owning a classic car is a hobby, and maintenance and adjustments should be expected over time.
